How to Choose Joy / Day 4 – Give + 5 Ways

I am sure you have heard the sayings ,  “You reap what you sow” and  “What goes around comes around”  but did you know they are based on the word of God. In Luke 6:38 the Lord prompts us to give to others and it will be given back to us, running over!

If we want more joy in our lives then we need to  give it and make it your mission to bring joy into someones life everyday. People are so weighed down with the everyday cares of life so It  isn’t hard  in today’s world to make someone feel special and bring a smile to their face. If this is something new for you don’t worry I have come up with a few ideas to help you get going. Maybe these will help get your own creative juices flowing too.

  1. In the carline at Starbucks? Pay for the order of the car behind you.

2. Give the gift of time ~ volunteer to babysit or watch the kids for your church M.O.P.S Group

3. Serve food at a local Soup Kitchen or Shelter

4.Invite someone over for dinner that you know might be lonely this time of year.

5.Find an old person and talk with them. I especially love old men, they are the cutest. The elderly have so much wisdom and history to them, they love to share it and you will bring such joy to their hearts.

Todays Assignment:

Verse: Luke 6:38 ~ Give and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full – pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.

Action: Today do one of the 5 things above, you will have time to pay for someones coffee or bless someone by taking a few extra minutes to engage in a conversation. Go above and beyond at work today and be extra helpful too!

Journal: How did it feel to give today?

Make sure to tell me how it goes!

What is your action today?

Me ~ I brought my dog for his hair cut today and gave the groomer a Dukin Donuts gift card….. Just because.
