When I don’t want to run/it’s the little things & make a goal

I went for a run last week. I almost didn’t go.

It is cloudy, cold and damp.

I forgot my hat and gloves.

My life can look the same. Dark, cloudy, rainy season and I don’t want to be here. I was not prepared for this.

I have to remind myself that the sun will shine again. The clouds will part, the tears will dry and it will be warm again.

~ I have to run in the cold to appreciate the warmth of the sun.

It is during these “runs” & “seasons” in life that I build my strength and that “do it anyway spirit.”

I love doing things that help me to look on the outside like the person I am growing into on the inside. And as I age I need these ‘things” more and more” ha! So on top of eating healthy 80% of the time and working out, I do this once a month. Yup. I get my eyelashes filled. I think they give me just the pick me up I need. Even if no one notices it doesn’t matter because I do.

I love setting goals for myself and I have learned that they really help me stay focused and driven. Goals remind me that my heart is still beating, I am moving forward and there is still life to be lived. They empower me. So that is why 7 weeks after my half marathon in April I decided to run another one. In this season I am walking through right now I need to do this. It is survival for me.

Do you have a preference when you run? Cold or warm, sunny or cloudy?

~ Me. Sunny all day!

What is something you do for a pick me up?

Have you made any goals lately? It is never too late! And.. It doesn’t have to be January 1st to make one 😉
